Biography

Xicotencatl Mendez Pizano is a founding partner and CEO of Wizelab SRL De CV, a business and financial consulting company focused on innovation & business intelligence, product development, internationalization of trade & productivity, business model design, entrepreneurship, development, recovery & sale of companies, appraisal, and structured financing.

Academic Profile

Industrial Designer with an MBA from the University of Guadalajara. He has studied Marketing, Finance, International Business and Business Development, focusing on the Asia-Pacific region, at ITESM and Economics and International Politics at the University of Milan, Italy.

Academic Experience

International Business, Business Development, International Marketing, and Design & Evaluation of Investment Projects Professor at ITESM, ITESO and the University of Guadalajara.

Publications

He has published two books and several scholarly articles on topics ranging from Commercial and Productive Internationalization to Productivity, Competitiveness, and Economic Development.

Professional Experience

He has more than 30 years of professional experience as an industrial designer, project leader in the areas of marketing, product development, internationalization of enterprises, investment & structured finance, and within the Mexican financial system as Regional Director of BBVA Bancomer and Nacional Financiera SNC, where he focused on the financing of investment projects, the internationalization of medium and corporate enterprises, and the development and incubation of new businesses.

He has served as Consultant for several companies, financial institutions, and private & public organizations.

Related to Wizelab, he is also the Founder and Chairman of WizeCap SAPI de CV, an investment company focused on Private Equity & Venture Capital, detection, preparation & appraisal of prospects, investment management, and equity capital. He also serves as a Placement Agent for Mexican and foreign funds, including Northgate Capital Funds.

Xico has been part of over 50 projects in Mexico, the United States, Western Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
