Bobby is a successful entrepreneur with a proven track record launching, growing, and exiting technology ventures. He currently leads the Product Team at Xoom, a pioneer in the international money transfer market, providing consumers with an easy to use, cost-effective and safe way of sending money, paying bills, and reloading phones around the world using their mobile phone, tablet or computer. Xoom was acquired by PayPal in late 2015 and currently runs as an independent PayPal service.
Bobby joined Xoom’s executive team in San Francisco via Xoom’s acquisition of BlueKite, a cross border payments platform which Bobby Co-Founded in early 2012, and lead through exit as CEO in early 2014. Prior to founding BlueKite, Bobby participated in various small tech ventures while gathering 8 years of experience in the financial sector, where he held senior roles evaluating credit, safeguarding liquidity, and managing balance sheet positioning. Bobby directed proprietary FX and interest rate trading desks at Citibank in Costa Rica and Guatemala, and held management rolls in the US (Dallas) and Cayman Islands with KPMG and and Fortis Bank.
Bobby was born and raised in Guatemala, but has lived most of his adult life in the United States. He holds a B.S in Economics and a B.B.A from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where he played for SMU’s Division I Basketball Team.
Today, besides his role at Xoom (PayPal), Bobby is also a director and investor in various startups, and is a Co-Founder of ATW Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm that backs tech entrepreneurs in the US, Latin America, and Europe.
